Unfortunately we had a horrible experience at Cafe Normandie on Valentine’s Day. TLDR: we were forced into a $130 prix fix and the service and meal quality were not up to the standard you would expect for a meal that expensive. We were notified about the prix fix 2 weeks before V-day so by then all other places were booked up — annoying but we embraced the idea of splurging on a really nice meal together. We were seated in overflow seating away from most other customers. The table was set with paper napkins and plastic cups, although my plastic cup was missing. When our server came over she saw the missing cup and grabbed one from a table that people were seated at. Immediately my boyfriend noticed and asked if the cup was clean, which the server insisted it was, but still unsettling that it came from a table in use. The poor ambiance could have been excused if our meal was excellent but it was mediocre at best. We were served four courses: a salad, appetizer, main, and dessert. The salad was sad, just lettuce and a crumbled hard boiled egg. For our apps I got a charcuterie board, which was 6 slices of salami and two pates and a small pile of spinach on the side, and my boyfriend got burrata which also came on a bed of spinach. We also were served bread and pats of cold butter in gold foil packaging that you get at a Cracker barrel. The mains were the best part of the meal, I got the veal and my boyfriend the salmon but the desserts were meh, clearly prepped a while ago my pastry was very stale. The bill ended up being almost $400 (we ordered a bottle of wine) and I was on the verge of tears because I was so disappointed in what should have been a very special meal. My boyfriend asked to speak to a manager and we spoke to the owner. Instead of trying to mitigate the situation he got defensive and argued with us. When we pointed out that the same meal a la carte was $75 pp and that this was a rip off he yelled at us and stormed off. We will never be back.

They served a prix fix Valentine's Day dinner and while the food was good, service was slow. The whole meal was not worth $130 pp. On top of that the tip was automatically added for 2 people!

Expected a nice Valentine’s Day dinner with a full menu. My wife wanted the duck. Instead we were given the Valentine’s Day menu which did not include duck or most everything else for $130. No advance notice. So we just bought a bottle of wine and drank it at the bar. I will not go to this restaurant again!

Classic French food in a brasserie-like atmosphere. Nice affordable wine list with a varied menu and specials. Burrata starter, croque monsieur, and rockfish on focaccia with classic French salads. Like we’d gone back to St. Germain en Laye for lunch! A perfect Valentine’s Day outing.

We went for breakfast yesterday on a cold (slightly) snowy Saturday. We loved the warmth of the fireplace, and the Eggs Benedict were delicious. This is a special place for us; my sister and I go every year on our birthday. Great service as well!

As locals, we enjoy our regular revisit to our favorite Annapolis restaurant. It is special, both small and intimate, while offering an excellent variety of dishes, starters, mains, and deserts. The staff have come to know us, so our welcome is always warm and friendly. If local but yet a newbie, take this little gem to heart. If not local, try this for a special reasonably-priced gem. Oh yes, our favorites include their crab soup, escargots, crepe Annapolis (where the crepe is the unique authentic Normandie style), troute almondine, and an attarctive wine list, bottles and glasses.

I think the time for food to come out was very long, as well as the waitress taking very long to come refill waters/deliver wine.

This was our first visit to this restaurant, but it will definitely not be our last. Everything we ordered was delicious. The ambiance was so warm, and we didn't feel rushed to leave. Can't wait to go again!

We went for Sunday Brunch. The food and service were both very good. The Restaurant itself is very tired and in dire need of deep cleaning and new carpet. The worst, however, was going to the ladies room. Dirty, loose faucets, wall paper peeled off of the walls, sticky floors, and a really filthy upholstered bench. I have always heard that you can tell the cleanliness of the kitchen by the cleanliness of bathroom. Not a good thought here.🤢
