A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history. "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today.

Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.

Perched between the spectacular Pacific Ocean and the hills of Rancho Santa Fe, the Del Mar Brigantine sits high above the action of the Del Mar racetrack.

A lushly landscaped garden offers an unparalleled setting for weddings and outdoor-themed events. Indoors, a formal dining room looks out to the garden through floor-to-ceiling french doors. For more casual dining, the glass-enclosed deck is a year-round favorite.

The Del Mar Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, lunch Monday-Saturday, and brunch each Sunday.

    This was our first time to dine at the Brigantine but, hopefully, not our last. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who kindly informed us that our reserved table would be ready in a short time, our reservation time, and in the meantime we could sit at the bar and she would find us when our table was ready. We sat at the bar, ordered glasses of wine and about ten minutes later, we were seated at a nice table with a view. Our waiter, Matt, was kind, informative and attentive. The food, a mixture of three different fish entres and one chicken was excellent. The evening could not have been better.

    Love the view and the food but our table, right in the doorway and next to the dirty dish station where every bus person and waiter threw dirty dishes into various bins was really disturbing and so loud even over the incredulous din of the crowd. Food was a flying off these dishes. Also our sever who had the personality of a mollusk took way too long to even bring water. Arrogant and slow are the only two nice words I have to describe him. Not a lot of happy workers there, may have been the mollusks effect on those around him. The food was good!

    We eat there all the time , but we sit at bar normally ! We sat at table with friends and service was not great !!! :(

    Had a great experience, seated at a table that was requested, server was prompt and pleasant. Just the right touch of service. Your food was delicious prepared very well and the person who delivered the food should be a server very friendly and helpful. Overall, very nice dining experience thank you.

    Crème brûlée was amazing, coconut shrimp had to be re-ordered because it came out barely room temp. Wagyu burger was bomb truffle Parmesan fries were really good. The scallop dish was and whatever they put underneath the scallops was also kind of whatever. Mashed potatoes were really good so overall it was decent, but there was definitely some things that could’ve been better

    Everything was very nice. A little noisy until crowd thinned out. A bit too much fat on the corned beef, but that was easily removed. Whole meal was very good St. Patrick's Day dinner. Service was very prompt and good. Tom & Luda
