   From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Our server, Grace, was superb. The striploin was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavour and tenderness. The sommelier was a charming and kind young man who provided excellent wine recommendations that enhanced our meal beautifully. Even the water boy stood out! He was friendly and always ensured our glasses were full. A truly top-notch experience. We will definitely be back. Cheers.

   Bow Valley Ranch Restaurant: We never write reviews but this one is necessary. Location, building and ambiance was welcoming, unique & excellent, 10/10. Food was good and not over-salted like many in Calgary seem to do, 7/10 Service - terrible 1/10 and we will not return as a result. Everything was fine at the start, seating, water, cocktail, wine, appetizer then bringing entrée but after that, nothing! Our wine was decanted with a large amount of sediment left running down the decanter spout, that was fine, somewhat normal and fully noted & commented on by the waiter with an "oh well". He then left and never returned! I eventually cleaned out the sediment with tissue and poured our first glass. During the meal our water was never topped up and at one point I had to stop a passing waiter, who did look at our table, to ask for water. He begrudgingly retrieved the water jug, filled my glass then walked away. I had to call him back to top up my wife's glass. Another time, he was seating and serving an adjacent table and when finished I again asked for a water top up and almost had to stop him walking away. He did get the jug and top up our water but that was the last time, The rest of the evening I got up, retrieved the water jug and topped up our glasses myself. Nobody ever came to top up our wine glasses from the carafe, we did that ourselves all night. Nobody came to the table at all during our main course. When we were finished, plates empty and cutlery side-by-side we waited almost 15 minutes to have the table cleared at which point we got the bill and left. The restaurant was half full so not busy and we observed the same lack of service at other tables, all very friendly & polite at the beginning, then nothing! My wife and I debated only giving a very minor tip to passively express our annoyance but ended up still giving an undeserved 20% just because . . . Worst service ever, hugely detracted from the restaurant and we will not return!

   It took us almost 1 hour to receive our lunch order. The non alcoholic drink I ordered was a Mango concoction, which was tasteless. Disappointing. Max, our server was courteous and very efficient. My friend enjoyed the burger she ordered and the Striploin I had was delicious! The Apple Crumble was served hot and was flavourful and yummy! However, the Pumpkin Cake I ordered was dry and not impressive. I’ve been to the Bow Valley Restaurant numerous times and always have rated it a 5. Not this time.

   I think the service have declined. We always go here to celebrate but today I was not that impressed with the service. We used to get our drinks (ie: coffee, water or pop) refilled without asking but today we have to call them for the service. Was not impressed with the service 😟 not that professional how we were served .

   The server was perfect. The beef tenderloin was excellent. The chicken entree with polenta was just okay - rather bland/tasteless, I would say.

    Overall a great experience and meal. Has the filet and it was rather fatty so not happy with that. Otherwise a great meal.
