   We were disappointed on Mother's Day at the Boathouse in Port Moody. First, there was no parking around the restaurant for four blocks. The service was OK and the waitress was polite and accommodating. The table location was awful, right next to the station where they stored the cups, cutlery, etc. Spent the evening looking at the bottles of Tabasco sauce and the TV above the station that had a hockey game on. Not really the Mother's Day ambiance we were expecting. Two of the three courses of the Mother's Day special dinner were good. The Spring salad and Lobster Bisque soup were good. The Halibut was a bit dry, but the PEI lobster tails were good. The Key Lime pie was not good - very dry and the crust was hard - almost like it was stale. We hadn't been to the Boathouse in a long time and wanted to do something special for Mother's Day, but unfortunately it didn't turn out to be the romantic night we expected.

   Other than a happy hour drink to enjoy the beautiful setting at Rocky Point park I would strongly urge everyone to go elsewhere and get much better food at any number of other restaurants at the same price points or less. We decided to give it another try years after giving up on the boathouse in Port Moody due to the numerous substandard experiences we’d had. Word was that new management was in place and the Mother’s Day brunch menu looked good. The menu was set with a number of different standard brunch choices and pastries and fruit to be brought to the table. Our past issues with the place aren’t resolved at all. The service was good. Attentive for the most part. To be honest we didn’t even bother to complain, but as a group decided we would never go back. My coffee was cold and tasted old. The “mother” in our group was served a cold omelette. The hollandaise was cold on all of the dishes and easily the worst, watery and most bland version any of us had ever tasted. The “fresh pastries and fruit” were poorly presented, stale and the fruit was old and dry. My daughter’s breakfast bowl was inedible. I’d like to think we’re on the average side, discerning but not super picky. I don’t think I’ve written more than one review in my life, but felt compelled.

   Took our parents for Mother's Day brunch at $35 pp + tax for a fixed, one-course menu and a side plate of fruit and pastries for the table of 4. We've been consistently disappointed the last three times we've been to the Port Moody location, especially given the menu prices. Three of us ordered eggs benny. Order came out from the kitchen almost immediately; all three benny dishes were the among the worst we've had. Hard poached eggs on dry English muffins (not toasted), a measured amount of sauce and a small slice of ham Side potatoes had flavour, but they were lukewarm. This was about volume and not delivering on quality. With more restaurants competing for patrons in Port Moody, the Boathouse seriously needs to up its game. This was the third strike for us.

   Lunch at the Boathouse Port Moody is a lovely way to spend your time. We enjoyed the lobster/shrimp rolls and they were delicious. The service was really outstanding today as our server was just delightful and professional. Thanks BH!

   Server constantly forgot about us, never asked how the food was. Appetizers came out at the same time as the main course.

    Everything was fair. Not as good as other Boathouse restaurants around the Lower Mainland. We usually dine at Boathouse for special family occasions, this time anniversary. Disappointed wasn’t treated to complimentary dessert as we usually were in other Boathouses. Was disappointed, as it was something special my family looked forward to. It’s not the cost but the THOUGHT. We’ll go back to Boathouse in Kits, New Westminster for specials….
