Chef-owned, Blades' Bistro features innovative international cuisine known for its open kitchen, quality menu offerings, and attentive service in a casual, country setting. Specialties include Grilled Salmon, Chicken Française and Roasted Beets topped with Goat Cheese, Fried Calamari and world class French Onion Soup along with salad courses, daily specials, seasonal entrees, and homemade desserts. The owners are committed to use fresh ingredients and support their Local Farmers whenever possible. Look for exciting Wine Dinners pared with wines from regions from all over the world. Blades' Bistro is a classy blend of classic, whimsical; it is an oasis of sophistication thriving in Placitas. Everything about Blades' Bistro is nicer than you expect, in the best possible way.               This is a beautiful small bistro. Excellent food and ambience! It’s a favorite spot for us to go for a lovely meal in Placitas (5 minutes off the I-25 exit…very easy drive). I give Blades the highest recommendation!

              If you want a great meal - with plenty of good options on the menu - and a nice experience, drive up to Placitas and visit Blades. We live here and enjoy the convenience. Always consistent service and food with a good wine and cocktail selection. We were celebrating the start of a new business and this was the perfect place for it. The people are friendly and will remember your name. The place has a very comfortable feel. Not too big. Busy enough - because it is that good. My wife had the brie special appetizer which made her night. Never a bad choice to dine here.

              Always a delight to be a customer at Blades!! They are so accommodating and so incredibly friendly and great at customer service. Food is always good. Love their staff-- that's what keeps us coming back again and again.

              We had their weekly specials of scallops over mushroom rice and Lamb Shank in wine sauce, plus fresh mussels to start. A fabulous meal! So happy to have such a quality place near us.

              Not bad, not good. We ordered cocktails before dinner @$15.00 each. My old fashioned was weak and without flavor. Sweet water pretty much. Ordered the Pepper Steak. It came out cooked just right; medium rare. Unfortunately it was luke warm as were the vegetable and mashed potato. I inquired about the weak cocktail and my waiter said he would check with the bartender to make it right; he never came back and never mentioned it again. At the end of the meal he asked how everything was. I didn’t bother to mention the lukewarm meal but did mention the watered down cocktail. He only said that it might have tasted weak because they use only local New Mexico made alcohol in their cocktails. That didn’t help me and made no sense at all. Never was there an offer to make it right. All in all, I’m disappointed with Blades. The hostess was very friendly and so too was everyone else, exception being our waiter. Not unfriendly just not a full service attitude. We always used to go to Blades for our special anniversary dinner but next year it will be somewhere else.

              For the first time in nearly 30 years I have a negative posting. I ordered the Veal Marsala , when it arrived the meat was very hard to slice and chew. After a few attempts I gave up , took the remainder home and gave it to my dog. Im hoping this was an outlier as this is the first time I was disappointed, but if you dont let them know, the same thing will happen again, Sorry Bistro.
