    Once again Barrett’s does not disappoint. Every time we are in Williamsburg this is the first stop we make. Food is great and service is impeccable. Ask for Marney or Christian, great service.

    Our first seating option was not good so we asked for another table. That was no better, right next to the service area. The food was fair with the baked oysters the best choice. We had the smoked salmon special that was not good. We mention to our waitress that the dish was not good and she apologized. The muscles were very salty. We would not recommend this restaurant based on what we ate as well as the poor ambience.

    I was surprised that the meal was "meh" at this restaurant when it was highly rated before making my reservation. Had some trouble that the restaurant tried to rectify...first, the server seemed to lose our order and after waiting almost an hour and having finished our appetizer, he returned to say "the kitchen lost my ticket" but I found that difficult to believe because our orders, if in the system, would be able to be called up so I'm pretty sure our server simply forgot to enter it... They did offer us complimentary clam chowder (to which I had to decline mine because I don't eat clam chowder) but they also offered us complimentary beverages... The food, once it arrived, was a little "meh" considering the price.

    Lots of GREAT things about this resturant that deserve a 5 star, outstanding rating, but ultimately you go there for the food. Not my style. It was as if they are trying too hard to be gourmet and it was too much ... too flavorful.

    As a local, this is a special occasion restaurant for us….always top quality delicious staples complimented by seasonal specials. The crab cakes are legendary. I enjoyed a pork chop and my husband the crispy fish, scallop and shrimp entree. Berret’s never disappoints!

    The best She Crab soup ever. The appetizer platter has the best crab balls ever. Like a crab cake sandwich with very little filler. Calamari is delicious. We go there for the She Crab Soup and the appetizer sampler. Never have room for anything else.
