   I’ve been overcharged lately on almost every bill. I usually don’t pay much attention to the bill, however, I while ago, we had a party of 8 people. I didn’t review the bill in detail until I got home. I noticed that I was charged for an additional meal and appetizers that we didn’t order. After that, I’ve been reviewing my bill, at least 3 out of 5 times I’ve been overcharged. Yesterday again, I was charged for drinks we didn’t order. It only has happened at the Puente Hills location, I doubt that this is a coincidence or a mistake.

   I recently dined at Benihana, expecting the usual lively experience paired with flavorful teppanyaki, but this visit fell a bit short. While the food was cooked well, it was heavily seasoned—almost overpowering at times, which took away from the natural flavors of the ingredients. The chef was efficient but lacked the interactive energy Benihana is known for. There was little engagement with our table, which made the experience feel rushed and impersonal. Another noticeable miss was the lack of table cleanup at the end of the meal, something that’s typically part of the Benihana standard. It left the dining area looking messy and unfinished, which affected the overall impression. Lastly, for the price point, I expected more attention to detail and better balance in both food and service. It wasn’t a bad experience, but it didn’t live up to the expectations I’ve come to associate with Benihana, especially since it was a birthday and party of 8 spending well above $600

   It has been a long time since eating here. I want to say more than 15 years and I was very disappointed. I made a reservation for 7:30 and did not get my order taken till 8:15. I was with a group of 4 people. Once our chef came, we could barely hear what he was saying. As he was cooking he did not even try to do the “heart” rice or the “ onion volcano” . When placing our order one of us asked for double rice and it was never given to him. He asked the chef for it and the chef ignored him. We were very disappointed.

   We had a great experience with the service, which was very helpful. However, we did wait an additional 45 minutes before being seated and served, which could be improved. On a positive note, the hibachi chef was excellent—much better than the one we had for my birthday. The showmanship during the veggie and onion volcano was fun and added enjoyment to the overall dining experience.

   Honestly didn’t care for my food no flavor at all my rice was burnt steak was cooked way too long, as well as my Gyoza’s was cold I had to send it back and even when it came back was cold I was over it at that point .I didn’t get the experience I should have. The chief explain to us at the end why he didn’t engage in us like other chiefs was doing at other tables , Because he’s sick and that’s wrong you guys have sick people cooking our food … I woke up feeling sick the next day with a sore throat.

   Checked in close to 6:05pm. Was told there would be a 10-15 min wait cause they were backed up which I understand. Was seated at 639pm didn’t get food until 737pm. Our server at first was ok but wow how things turn for the worst experience EVER at Benihanas. Wow our server was not on it at all from taking the wrong order, not coming to see if we needed more drinks , I had to remove our empty used plates like our soup, salad bowls and appetizer plate off our table luckily there was a tray for me to put them on. But hey that’s what I come to a nice restaurant to move empty dishes. He’s responds to one of the guest at the table was rude the customer asked for hot sauce and he responded like he was being rushed and bothers telling him to hold on he’s doing something and at the end he never brought it, the guest had to ask someone else, the my wife ask for our kids order of white rice and if we can have refills and there he goes with that same response. Now for our chef he was decent at lowest, we all noticed other tables chefs got to the tables first and he arrived last while we where the first ones to be seated not waiting for any other guest to sit at out table. He rushed all the food our fried rice was not fully cooked the Benihana way didn’t have the amazing flavor that we always get and I though it was me but my daughter and wife mentioned and also the guest at our table was really surprised cause he even asked the chef to cook the rice more cause he noticed he was rushing. This was after the chef was gone. Also the chef mentioned that our sever make a lot of mistakes do to him placing the wrong order for my daughter putting steak and shrimp instead of steak and chicken, so there we go waiting on chicken from another chef which I get it it was a mistake. When we ask for refills and the server still didn’t have our kids rice that’s when I had enough in went over to the front desk and spoke to a manager telling him our experience at the table. He did credit 49.

    Service is going down hill, the lady that served us were giving attitude. We asked for kids water she replied kids water is only for kids and end up never bring us the water either.
