   Food and service was horrible, food was salty floor was greasy, food mad everyone sick after, had a reservation and still had to wait over 30 mins due to overbooking didn’t even have a proper waiting area

   The server was overwhelmed and dropped a glass right on my side of the cooking table, the glass went everywhere including my dinner plate. Too noisy could not hear the cooks attempt at entertaining. Seating too clustered no elbow room. It was my husband’s birthday and I asked for the servers to sing for him, he got one server!

   The food was great, our server, chef, waitstaff were all great. The place was REALLY loud. My main complaint was with the checkin service. We’d looked up reservations online and noticed that there were many open spots. We chose to do a walk in as it was only a 15 minute walk to the restaurant. When asked if I had a reservation I replied no and was told there was a 3 hour wait. I walked out , made the reservations online and immediately walked back in. Then the girl got rude and said “ well there’s still a wait”. I asked how long and after 3 “ there’s still a wait” comments, she finally said 30 minutes. Incidentally, we were seated at the booked reservation time. I understand that reservations take precedent , but when there were so many openings, I’m not sure why it became such a big deal.

   I was disappointed with the service. I visited earlier this week, but the $30 birthday voucher code didn’t appear in the email I received, and they refused to honor it. There should be a better way to handle situations like this. I won’t be returning to any Benihana locations. The ones in Long Island are better than those in the city, even though I love the city.
