   I booked a reservation for my parents, my 2 kids, and myself for my birthday dinner. We arrived and were seated next to another couple. The waitress came along and got our drink orders and appetizer orders. Then we sat, and sat, and sat, and sat. The kids' milkshakes and my Mom's tea came, however my Dad and I never received our cocktails. In addition we didn't get the three appetizers that we ordered. The soup and salad came. Still no appetizers or cocktails, and no water was refilled for anyone at the table. At the one hour mark we had no water, no cocktails, no appetizers, and no chef. We finally received the calamari that my daughter ordered. It was cold and had obviously been sitting around for quite some time. At this point, I was fed up and asked to speak to a manager. I let him know what had been going on and that we would like to return the calamari, pay for the drinks we received, and leave. He apologized and let us know they were very busy. He comped the tea, milkshakes, and the calamari. As we got up to leave the chef was walking across the restaurant to our table, but by then it was too late. We added up our bill and we were on track to spend $500.00. We took our business elsewhere and had prompt, excellent service and food. We will not be returning to Benihana.

   1. Even we told server that two out of three in our party are first time at Benihana’s, she did not explain how their menu and courses will work. 2. Food was okay. It was showing not so experience hand had cooked

   Tonight’s overall experience was fabulous. Fabulous to the degree that the ladies were so happy to be together for birthday celebrations. Let’s not forget about the photo of all the ladies together. They were very excited to have there own print to take home. That’s the hoopla of the evening. Let’s talk about the meal. Always a wonderful performance/presentation and tastes just as good.

   We were so disappointed. Had not been to Benihana in years. This is not the Rocky Aoki experience of the past. It is an expensive and CHEAP version. Server was non existent after taking our order and got that wrong. Chef had ZERO personality and his skills were sub par. Observing other grills, all the chefs are performing from the same stale playbook. The Food...crap...flavorless...dumped on the plate like last night's garbage. And the timing...no regard...the chef Mario prepared the meals in a way, 1 family member was almost finished before the last had their entrée. Will NEVER go back. There are many far better alternatives in the area at much less cost. Avoid.

   Food, service and chef were excellent tonight. We were greeted by very friendly staff and were seated right away. They asked if we were celebrating anything, which I confirmed my birthday. They took our family photo and gave us a print out a few minutes later. Our server and the chef were both extra attentive and accommodating for our two young daughters, which was extra appreciated. Unfortunately we were not offered tea or ice cream, and we had to inquire after being presented the check. It seems like this has been the case the last few years we’ve gone (unsure if their service standards have changed?). Also, the building is very tired and would love to see this location at a minimum go through a refresh, if not a complete rebuild. We love Benihana and want to see it succeed.

   The experience was very nice, the food delicious, and the chef very friendly. The only thing I didn't like was that you have to share a table with other people; you don't have privacy, but I understand why, since they don't have many tables, and the tables are only suitable for large groups. But everything was very good.
