   Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was well prepared.

   We had a 630 reservation. We weren’t set until 655. We came in for the taste of Benihana to be towed that was only available at the bar or the sushi bar, which was not posted on their website. It would’ve been extremely helpful to know nonetheless we ordered the food, the service wasn’t all that great we had to keep waving our waiter down . Probably wouldn’t come back to this location.

   We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Benihana in Bethesda! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a lively energy that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. The highlight, of course, was the hibachi experience. Our chef was not only highly skilled but also engaging and entertaining, turning the cooking process into a true performance. From the iconic onion volcano to the expert knife skills, every moment was captivating. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to my preferred temp the shrimp and chicken were equally delightful, with just the right amount of seasoning. The fried rice prepared fresh on the grill was also great. The portions were generous, ensuring no one left hungry. Overall, Benihana Bethesda delivered an unforgettable dining experience. From the exceptional service to delicious food, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

   First time visit in at least 10 years. The occasion to get us back was was a birthday (for grandpa) and first ever visit for 6 year-old grandson. Food and service was excellent, a HUGE hit for the six-year old who absolutely loved all of the food and the chef's "show." He surprised us by eating all of the soup, asking for more of the fried rice, eating all of his shrimp (and stealing a few from his grandma and grandpa), eating much of his chicken and corn, and of course, the ice cream and happy birthday song and embarrassment for his grandpa. He wanted to save the leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast. A couple of miscue's for the table on getting the order to the right customer, which required some additional cooking for the chef, but did not detract from the experience. We will be back at some point in the near future, not waiting to return as long as we did last time - either with or without the grandkids, because the food and experience was so wonderful.

   This review is more for my own reminder of the experience I recently had with Benihana at the Wisconsin Ave location in Bethesda, MD. This is not a ploy for publicity, vindication or retaliation of any kind. Review is as follows keeping it clean and simple. 1. Hospitality- Did not feel welcomed or special in any way. 2. Appearance- Confusing (Renovations going on at the entrance upon my arrival, looked like restaurant was closed) 3. Cleanliness- Fair to the average eye, but for my standard it's just appalling and unfortunately I felt clean until I walked through those doors and eventually felt filthy walking out. Please try to maintain beautification all around, put a little more care and effort in cleaning everything, staff present themselves with more hygienic appearance and apply good food safety practices. 4. Customer Service- Please work more on this. It is critical to go above and beyond in order to achieve Excellent & Outstanding Service. (Even though it was my Birthday Celebration dinner along with it being my first Benihana experience, I did not feel welcomed or special in any way. I felt like another coin purse walking in ready to be taken advantaged of. 5. Food Quality- Fair. You get what you pay for here 6. Overall- Just Poor 7. Revisit? - Yes, if willing to work on improving these opportunities.

    Terrible experience. They were an HOUR late for reservations, which happens, but the hostesses were rude about it any time we asked if there was an update. The restaurant looks like it hasnt been updated since the 90's. The food was mediocre and the chef seemed to have forgotten the "show" aspect of what she was doing - our kids were wildly disappointed. The waitress barely paid attention to us and then awkwardly asked for our tip amounts. I will not be returning - there's a better hibachi place in Rockville town center.
