Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant is the brainchild of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver. The menu features healthy meets delicious options, and is known for its iconic coffee and bakery counter, including signature cookies, in-house pastry favorites and our house blends from Beatrix Coffee Roasters, featuring Light, Dark, Espresso and Decaf roasts.

                                                                Be careful to go to the correct location! Luckily we arrived early & had time to get to the correct location. They had no interest in accommodating us. Once we aren’t at the Streeterville location we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend this Beatrix location. It is slightly less busy & just has a better vibe. I enjoyed my latte with the cool design and the lemon pancakes. My partner had the ham & cheese croissant and it was also delicious. The food didn’t arrive very quickly but I’m ok with a slightly slower delivery on a Sunday when I want to enjoy my food & the experience. The tables are a bit crowded which is why I gave it a 4/5 for ambiance.

                                                                Good food, a little pricey but what does one expect in Chicago? Serviing staff not bad, but not exceptional either. This was my fourth visit and each has been idenitical.

                                                                The service was wonderful. We were seated immediately and checked on right away. We tried two specialty cocktails and an appetizer. We had the tacos and the white fish for dinner both were more than enough to eat and we couldn’t fish either and had to take them to go! The ambiance was great. Very relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!

                                                                We had three Enlightened Caesar salads two of which were with salmon that was dried out and flavorless. The chicken version was adequate at best. Our server had bad attitude, and not once did he ask if we needed anything or how our meal was. It was my dad's birthday lunch but in light of the poor attitude from our server we chose to go elsewhere for dessert and coffee. The management is always very pleasant/accommodating as are the hostesses and that is what brings us back.

                                                                Excellent lemon pancakes! My wife had the Migas egg scramble. Both were delicious. Highly recommend. They take reservations for breakfast- recommended.
