   Second time dining at Bateau and it wasn’t what i remember it being. It was nice. Food was good but the prices were very very high for what we got and the service was just meh this time. Felt kind of forgotten about. Not sure I’ll be back for a 3rd visit.

   The service exceeded expectations! For a busy holiday we were surprised how much attention we received without feeling rushed. All food and drink recommendations were great! One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

   Wonderful staff and service. Food is excellent. Well worth the price for special occasions. Only concern is the recently implemented 22% service charge. It’s not clear if this benefits the staff but they’ve also added in a like that gratuity is not expected. Would like to see an assurance that this fee goes to taking care of staff with higher wages, good benefits, etc.

   Consistently an amazing dining experience, I am always glad to have eaten at Bateau. Everything we ate was amazing, the space is beautiful, and the service is warm and accommodating. Can't wait to return!

   I’ve eaten at almost every Renee Erickson restaurant and have always found the food delicious. I think this one was perhaps lost on me. We were adventurous and ordered some cuts recommended by the waiter that were lesser-known, as well as one of the very aged cuts. My impression of the lesser-known was that we eat the parts of the cow we traditionally eat because they taste better, and the very aged cut tasted frankly disgusting. Perhaps it is an acquired taste, but not one I’m likely to acquire. Also, the waiter did not come after service to ask if our steaks were cooked to our liking, which they were not. We had to flag someone down. The sides and appetizers were good, as were the cocktails and wine, but we were very disappointed with the steak and felt the service could have been better. For the price, I’d rather go to El Gaucho and get a nice filet!

   This restaurant is all about the beef. The variety of cuts is outstanding. The service was top notch. My friends and I had a wonderful time.

   Bateau is certainly not an ordinary restaurant. Their concept is built on using the entire animal. We opted ala carte which allowed us to choose the many different cuts of beef. Best bet is to have dinner early for first dibs in choosing your favorite cut of beef. Once the cut is taken, it will be crossed out on the chalkboard. Cuts of beef picked out by our table were all good choices: Chuck steak, Flat iron and Jacob's ladder. All cooked medium rare and topped with anchovy butter. All of our cuts were excellent in tenderness and flavor. Restaurant spent time in taking our food allergy seriously and made accommodation. We were served a complimentary salad in question. Both salads were good and refreshing. We preferred the Bateau salad for the unique ingredients. Mashed potatoes and frites were also good. Waitstaff was pleasant and knowledgeable. Went over the cuts of beef a couple of times. Service was attentive and efficient. Will be back to try other cuts of beef.
