   Every dish was a 10 out of 10. The service was gracious and warm and we felt very taken care of (Alvaro was amazing!). Each detail from the decor to plate settings was perfect. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!!

   The meal was wonderful -- beet salad, ricotta balls, BBQ platter. Perfectly prepared, hot and delicious. The wine recommendations were top notch. The service was quick, friendly, helpful and non-intrusive. The table lighting is a bit low, so iPhones were employed to read the menu -- no surprise there. Overall, we were delighted with the restaurant.

   Crispy Pork Belly tasted like candy under the apple cinnamon glaze. Hope Ranch Mussels and broth were phenomenal! GET THE BREAD & SPREAD!!!!! Baked California was a perfect dessert. Super delectable and light. 1st time dining here, coming back again & can’t wait!

   The team at Barbareño was so lovely! Thank you for making my husband feel special on his birthday. We enjoyed their signature Santa Maria BBQ platter the most of anything we ordered and their homemade sourdough is out of this world delicious.

   This is a terrific place for many reasons, starting with a location that's off State St. and not engulfed in intoxicated foot traffic. The food is very inventive and careful with concepts and ingredients. The staff is unified in friendliness and preparation to serve food that may very well evoke questions from diners. Wine list is fantastic. We return to Barbareño over and over for occasions and just a great meal anytime. My only knock would be that the menu seems a bit static. There are plenty of delights to savor, but things change very seldom. It is not pretentious in the slightest, but perhaps could be somewhat more ambitious.
