The original jewel in the Oliver & Bonacini crown and a North Toronto icon, Auberge du Pommier has been serving guests since 1987. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city.

Please note: reservations for Summerlicious open on June 29, and will be available online only.

We enjoyed a wonderful experience with the tasting menu that was pure class. Well-choreographed service in a very cozy setting that truly transports you to a small village in France, as intended by the founder. Can understand why this is an iconic destination in Toronto and would recommend this to anyone who has a special celebration or is seeking French fine dining.

This is our seventh visit and the first time we were disappointed. The service is still supreme but the food was uninspiring. Apps we had before (tartar) had less flavour - but still ok. The mains were also missing flavours - and tiny! (Nouvelle cuisine and all, but still). The piece of duck was boring, mostly fat and skin (wasn’t crispy) and maybe 100g of actual meat. And the dessert were a flop. The Saint Honore was meh (our local Amadeus has a far superior one) and the soufflé tasted like an omelette! On the plus side, the little sweets served with the coffee were much better than the desserts. All in, *before* wine and tip was $330 for two.

The service was excellent and the food was great. The foie gras was surprisingly delicious and the oysters were fresh. I’d love to come again.

To start, our server Elliot was fantastic and was the sole redeeming quality of our evening. He was charismatic, energetic, and attentive. They’re lucky to have him. Unfortunately, the food was nothing short of terrible. It made it even worse knowing the price point being charged. We were absolutely shocked by how bland the entrees were. They took what could have been a great cut of meat and somehow made it devoid of all flavour. The sauces for both the duck and the steak were essentially the same water based flavourless syrup. The meats tasted like they had been in the freezer for 3 years. The crevette et crab was such poor quality seafood it was basically grey. A lot of these dishes were truly laughable. We were two people, we ordered three appetizers, two mains, and a drink each. The total was $400 - and we couldn’t believe it. The portion sizes are small, which would be fine if the quality and taste delivers, but I can assure you it does not. We have been to plenty of high-end restaurants in Toronto (with fine dining portions and large portions) and we are happy to pay a higher price for a unique dining experience. But, this was abysmal.

The Auberge du Pommier never disappoints. Over the years, we have enjoyed wonderful meals in the perfect ambiance at the Auberge. Tonight's experience was perfect in every possible way. Excellent staff, beautifully prepared delicious meals, elegant surroundings. I couldn't have improved on any aspect of our special event. We will be back.

Michael served us perfectly, tending to our every need and wish. The atmosphere is always cozy and that makes for a very comfortable experience. The food is also always wonderful, and it's a pleasure to try comfort foods prepared in such an artistic way. The entire experience was great, and we are already making plans for our next visit.
