   We had reservations in which I had to change due to traffic issues but was EXTREMELY easy through the open table app. Once we arrived we were seated immediately. Our waiter and bussers were amazing and made our dining experience wonderful! Our food wasn’t very hot but nonetheless we enjoyed it. Thank you for another great meal.

   I haven't been here for many years so I'm not sure when the update was done, but the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! Our server was awesome and the food was excellent!! I had the stuffed chicken breast... outstanding!! Every dish was cooked to perfection! My son had the fish of the day with table side deboning. I can guarantee he will be talking about the fish for a long time to come!

   The food was ok, but I have to say: if a restaurant takes a reservation for 8:15 and when you show up at 8:10 the hostess says- order soon, because the kitchen is closing in 15 minutes, it taints the experience. Why take the reservation if you don’t want people in there at that time.

   We have been going to Athena’s for years. Never had an issue. This time was different.. took over 20 mins to get service. Ordered appetizers and didn’t receive 2 of them. Order a drink 3 times until we just went up to bar to get ourselves.. otherwise food was good. Just needed to do better with service.

   Athena has been a cornerstone of Greektown for my family, consistently delivering quality meals over the years. Unfortunately, this visit fell short of their usual standards. Here’s what we experienced: * Chicken Souvlaki: The dish was disappointingly dry, lacking the tenderness we’ve come to expect. * Aginarato (Weekend Leg of Lamb Special): This dish was not up to Athena’s usual quality. The lamb was excessively fatty and still covered in the pleura, a preparation misstep I’ve never encountered in over a decade of ordering their lamb dishes. The meat simply wasn’t prepared properly. * Sides for the Aginarato: The menu promised artichokes and carrots, but we were only served artichokes, which were woody and nearly inedible. * Wine Pour: The wine pour was notably stingy. Athena typically provides a fair pour for $15, but that wasn’t the case this time. * Service: The saving grace of the evening was the service, which remained friendly and prompt, as always. Their waitstaff is always accommodating. Had this been our first visit to Athena, we likely not return. However, given our long-standing positive relationship with this restaurant, we’ll give them another chance to deliver the quality we know they’re capable of.

    Great service, from our server to the bus staff, everything was professional, friendly and first rate. My guests and I love the ambiance of Athena and the food is amazing. Athena provides excellent customer service - proving that they take pride in what they do.
