My husband and I had a late night (~9pm) dinner here. The atmosphere was perfect: quiet, dimly lit with warm lights, elegantly decorated for the holidays. We were impressed from the moment we set foot in the restaurant when we were greeted by a friendly host who offered to take our coats. While I had intended to order the pre-fixe menu, my husband and I were much more excited by the a la carte options and ordered bread with marinated olives to start, along with Grilled Portuguese Sardines (absolutely delicious, surprising, and a delight! try even if you don't think you like sardines!), Cod Quenelles (cod cakes), Grilled Squid main, and Piri-Piri Chicken Breast. Everything was ordered to share, which was perfect as that's the way my husband and I like it. We finished with the house special crème brûlée, which has rotating seasonal flavours. For December, they are offering a Bailey's Irish Cream flavour with house made gingerbread and meringue, which was to die for. Adega is a Portuguese restaurant, and while I'm not familiar with Portuguese wines, our server was able to help me narrow the list to three choices, and ordered the Carm Douro — a cheaper bottle (~$60) described as dry and similar to a Sauvignon Blanc. It went perfectly with each course, including dessert. Overall my husband and I loved Adega and can easily see ourselves coming back next time we are downtown! Perfect for a nice date under $250.

The food was amazing and the staff overall was great, there was one member who appeared to be abrasive however we didn’t take it too personally. I would come back here again.
