   Our experience was good, but I suspect there are other Turkish restaurants worth trying. Our group shared 3 small plates to start, zucchini pancakes which were overcooked to the point one was really burned on the edges, puréed eggplant salad which was bland and a tiny portion, and beets salad which had no seasoning, more like plain roasted beets. Those who had kebab enjoyed the grilled meat, and portions were generous. The white bean stew was flavorful in a tomato sauce. The felafel was light and crisp, very nice, but rice and red cabbage on the side had again no seasoning and no dressing (maybe a drizzle of olive oil?). The bread on the table was excellent and warm, the accompanying olive oil had no flavor however, likely not extra virgin. Overall I was missing the flavors of good olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, sumac, parsley. Service was efficient and friendly. We had a nice evening.

   I asked Turkish uber driver which is the best Turkish restaurant in Manhattan and he told ABA. It’s a little gem of Turkish cuisine in uptown Manhattan. Usually Turkish restaurants in nyc are too fashionable and expensive, but this restaurant is nicely simple with space and comfortable. Food is absolutely great and very good cost performance. Want to come here often!

   We arrived fifteen minutes early and were seated right away. Splitting two appetizers (falafel and spinach borek) and a main of chicken shish kebab provided a delcious meal. We were not rushed and the waitstaff was on point, refilling water, asking about other drinks, and generally being kind and observant. We will be back. Great stop on the way to Lincoln Center.

   I originally made reservation for 2. Called night before to change to 3 -barely interested in getting my name. However, no problem on arrival although didn't seem to check my reservation. Food good and attentiveness to refilling water. Appetizer and entree came quickly, but we were not rushed about dessert or to pay. My disappointment is that although American coffee on the menu (part of my dinner special) - not available; only offered tea and Turkish coffee. As I left waiter joked about owing me a coffee. I'm not criticizing waiter - merely his attempt at humor. The other "downside" is that although good and will likely go back, I consider this a place to eat not to "dine" because it has an almost diner atmosphere rather than that of a nice mid-grade restaurant. And although I rarely drink, I think they have only wine from what I saw on the tables.

   Food portions were larger than normal. Taste was average. Salads could be better with quality olive oil and vinegar. Prices are reasonable. Only wine and beer are available as alcoholic beverages.

   Consistently good Turkish food. They have decent Turkish wine on the menu. The Turkish ravioli is excellent and a large portion .
